Cellulite: What’s the Story?

Before we dive into QWO, let’s talk about one of the most common (and possibly one of the most lamented) conditions that affects over 90% of women: cellulite.

Despite the fact that nearly all women have cellulite at some point in their life, the majority of us are self-conscious about the lumps and bumps that occur when the skin in certain areas gets pulled down over fat by connective tissue bands, creating an uneven surface. The truth is, cellulite affects women of all sizes and isn’t necessarily determined by your body type or weight. Other factors that may contribute to cellulite include hormones, diet, lifestyle, and genetics, just to name a few.

There are several treatment options available when it comes to removing cellulite. Those include procedures like laser treatments, radiofrequency and other non-laser energy treatments, mechanical (or surgical treatments), and massage/topical treatments.

Laser treatments, while considered minimally invasive, are still surgical in nature—they involve inserting a laser probe under the skin through a small incision. Non-laser energy treatments utilize radiofrequency, infrared light, and more to stimulate collagen production. Surgical treatments involve using a small blade to cut through the connective tissue just below the skin. And finally, topical treatments are typically not as effective in treating cellulite, although medical-grade creams can stimulate collagen production for a subtle change in appearance.

QWO is different from surgical treatments because it’s minimally invasive, and unlike many topical treatments, it produces maximum, noticeable results.

What You Should Know About QWO

What is QWO and how does it work? We’re so glad you asked.
QWO is an injectable solution that targets moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks and it actually works in three different ways:

  1. It releases the fibrous bands that trap fat and create a dimpled appearance.
  2. It redistributes fat cells for a more uniform appearance.
  3. It stimulates the growth of new collagen for a smoother look.

This combination results in one of the most effective injectable cellulite treatments on the market. If you have stubborn lumps and bumps that won’t go away no matter how much you exercise or “eat right,” then QWO could be the solution you’re looking for.

QWO FAQs

Any type of cosmetic procedure—invasive or not—is a big deal, so it’s always best to think it over, do your research, and ask plenty of questions. If you still have concerns about this treatment, look no further—we’re covering all the details in our FAQs below.

What is QWO?

QWO is a nonsurgical, injectable prescription medicine that’s used to treat moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

Are there side effects with QWO treatment?

Side effects are generally minimal and the most common include injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling, and warmth in the treatment area. Call your doctor right away if you have hives, trouble breathing, low blood pressure, swollen face, chest pain, dizziness, or fainting after receiving QWO.

Is QWO safe?

Yes! QWO is FDA-approved and has been studied in more patients than any other injectable cellulite treatment. QWO also received a 2020 Shape Beauty Award and was named a winner in ELLE Magazine’s 2020 Future of Beauty awards.

Nonetheless, you should not receive QWO if you are allergic to collagenase or to any of the ingredients in QWO, or have an active infection at the treatment area. It’s always a good idea to talk to your healthcare provider about any concerns or conditions prior to receiving treatment. For a complete list of safety and patient information, visit QWO.com.

How long does it take to see results?

Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks. We recommend undergoing three treatments 21 days apart for best results. Our specialists will work with you to come up with a treatment plan that fits your particular needs.
