Event Prep: In Honor of The Met Gala

Event Prep: In Honor of The Met Gala

As we all know, prepping for any kind of event takes some time. With the Met Gala approaching, we all wonder... How are all these people getting ready? What is their secret to looking so fab on the red carpet? How do I do that?

Here we are going to give our step-by-step guide to be ready for any event with confidence.

First

1. Killer Skincare Routine: 2 months Pre-Event

Before leading up to your event, get started on a skincare routine that is going to lighten and brighten you up in the best way. Here’s our secret holy grail skincare routine, perfect for everyone, even those with sensitive skin.

You need SPF, Antioxidants, growth factors, and a retinol. We call these the “Core 4” products for anybody's successful skincare routine.

  • SPF Protects your skin from UV rays; prevents wrinkles, fine lines, redness, and sunspots; smooths and brightens; reduces discoloration
  • Antioxidants Protect the skin from free radicals; reduce inflammation, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation; brighten skin; prevent sagging, fine lines, and wrinkles
  • Growth Factors Promote the formation of collagen and elastin; repair damaged skin; even skin tone; reduce sagging
  • Retinol Smooths skin texture; lessens blackheads and breakouts; brightens skin; reduces fine lines and wrinkles

Our Product Recommendations

1. Revision Skincare C+ Correcting Complex 30%

  • 1-2x/Daily
  • “This is going to regulate your melanin production for brighter, less sun-damaged skin. This will also cool down redness throughout the skin.”

2. Revision Skincare Intellishade Tru Physical SPF 45

  • 1-2x/Daily
  • Core 4 Category: SPF
  • “Sensitive or acne-prone skin should use a physical/mineral sunscreen. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide don’t irritate the skin and add a layer of protection over the skin.”

3. Revision Skincare DEJ Night Cream .25

  • 4-7x/Week, depending on skin sensitivity, at night
  • “This is a retinol encapsulated in a night cream mixed with natural derivatives of vitamin A, along with other ingredients, to help dilute the retinol absorption into the skin for easier acclimation.”

4. Skin Medica TNS Advanced Plus Serum

  • 2x/Daily
  • “TNS Advanced is a classic product used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, but it can also reduce inflammation in the skin and build the skin barrier, so the skin can better protect itself.”

2. Botox/Dysport Appointment: 1 Month Pre-Event

The next step in our Red Carpet Ready Routine is setting up your Botox/Dysport appointment. If you have never received either before, we recommend scheduling a consultation with one of our providers to be able to walk through the whole process with you and make sure you feel comfortable and ready to get started.

We recommend receiving this treatment about a month before your event. It typically takes about two weeks to completely kick in. That way after the full two weeks you can come in for a complimentary follow-up for last-minute touch-ups to ensure you’re completely ready. By the day of your event your “After Botox Glow” will be in full effect.

Then
3. Hydrafacial: Week of Event
The HydraFacial has a reputation as the holy grail of facials for a reason: It’s that good. Thanks to proprietary delivery technology and super-serums that exfoliate, cleanse, detoxify, and hydrate the skin, incorporating HydraFacials into your skincare routine can make a huge difference in the health of your skin—and give you that coveted glow that will last the whole week and get you prepped for your big day.

Finally

 4. Put on your best dress and SHINE ON

The final step in our routine is to pick out what to wear to your event. The best dress in your closet, your favorite blazer, whatever makes you feel the most confident in your skin because at the end of the day, that’s what it is all about. Walk into your event as your favorite version of yourself. Nothing is greater than that... Nothing is greater than YOU.
