Boost Your Confidence

Botox has therapeutic as well as cosmetic applications. Botox is routinely used to treat hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating.

How Does Botox Treat Excessive Sweating?

Hyperhidrosis is defined as severe or excessive sweating that normally occurs in the armpits or on the palms. Botox works by blocking nerve impulses that stimulate eccrine gland production. Botox prevents these glands from producing sweat. Treatment effects last about 6-8 months before repeat administration is required.

What is the process?

At OVME we seek to deliver dependable and long-lasting results. During a Botox procedure, an OVME Advanced Aesthetic Nurse or MD will evaluate the areas to be treated based on the desired patient outcome. A Botox treatment for hyperhydrosis normally takes 30 minutes or less and, in most instances, the procedure is very well tolerated. There is no real downtime associated with Botox however you may see redness at the injection site immediately after treatment.
