Juvederm Volbella® history

Volbella® was approved by the FDA in 2016 for the treatment of lips and “smoker’s lines”.  While is it one of the newer fillers to hit the U.S., it was first approved in Europe in 2011. Developed using Allergan’s proprietary Vycross® technology, Volbella® with lidocaine is formulated with an innovative combination of highly cross-linked HA (Hyaluronic Acid) chains. This cross-linking allows for a lower concentration of HA to be used, which results in less swelling. The Vycross® technology delivers an ultra-smooth gel, which results in a natural look and feel, as well as improved duration.
