Restylane-L

Restylane-L, the original Restylane filler from Galderma, is used by women and men to soften deep folds and wrinkles in the mid to lower face. Restylane-L is an effective way to replace your skin’s natural volume loss. This filler is an injectable hyaluronic acid with lidocaine. This smooth gel substance mimics the body’s natural hyaluronic acid. While the main areas of use for Restylane-L are the nasolabial folds (also known as “smile lines”), it can also be used to enhance lips, vertical lip lines, marionette lines, and chin wrinkles. Restylane-L is a great non-surgical cosmetic procedure that delivers immediate and natural results lasting anywhere from 9-12 months. A normal Restylane-L visit can lasts 30-40 minutes.

Restylane-L contains lidocaine, a common anesthetic, which helps patients tolerate the minor “pinch and pressure” associated with injection. Results are seen immediately after the procedure and full correction is apparent within 1 week. There is minimal downtime associated with Restylane-L. Patients are treated with ice immediately following the procedure. While the potential for bruising and swelling exists, if it occurs it normally last only a few days.

The cost of Restylane-L depends on the number of syringes used to achieve your aesthetic goals. Your cost not only includes the price of the product, but more importantly, the skill and expertise of the OVME Certified Provider performing your treatment.

Restylane-L is eligible for credit towards Aspire, Galderma’s loyalty program. Aspire is a great way to save on your favorite procedures at no cost to you. Think of it as credit card miles for your anti-aging treatments.

Restylane-L History

Restylane® received U.S. FDA approval in 2003. Medicis Aesthetics Holdings Inc. became responsible for helping to market and distribute Restylane®, which was notable for its success in lip enhancements, removing lines at the corners of the mouth, and smoothing out lines on the forehead. Medicis was then purchased by Galderma in 2014 and has since been expanding their product line with different variations of Restylane for lip enhancement, volume, and facial line softening.

Restylane-L Q&A

How long will Restylane-L results last?

Restylane-L results can last 9-12 months.

When will I see results?

Restylane-L results are immediate, and you can expect to see the full correction within 7-14 days.

Is one brand or product better than another?

While there are a number of fillers for facial rejuvenation, Restylane-L has continued to be the preferred product for a number of treatment areas.

Can I schedule a Restylane-L treatment the day before a big event?

Restylane-L recovery time may vary. While not everyone will bruise, there may be swelling at the injection site and potential for bruising that may last up to a week. We do not recommend scheduling around any major events due to potential of bruising.

Can I get Restylane-L done the same day as other injectable procedures?

Yes, you can receive Restylane-L the same day you receive other injectable treatments such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin. We do prefer, however, to treat with Restylane-L after any laser procedures.

Does the Restylane-L procedure hurt?

With the topical numbing applied before the procedure, patients describe Restylane-L as a pinch with pressure. Some spots are more sensitive than others, but patients generally tolerate the procedure well in our experience. Patients may experience mild soreness up to 24 hours after the procedure.

Does it really matter who does my Restylane-L?

There are specialty injection techniques and skills required to maintain a natural and smooth look. It is highly recommended that an OVME Certified Provider perform the procedure in order to prevent complications and give you the best possible results.

How much does Restylane-L cost?

The Restylance-L OVME treatment cost is based on how many syringes are used for your aesthetic goals. The number varies depending on the areas being treated, and providers can give you an expected price prior to the procedure. An OVME Membership is the most affordable maintenance option available.

When Can I Go Back to Work after a Restylane-L Treatment?

A Restylane-L treatment is unlikely to impact your ability to perform your regular work tasks, so most people return to their jobs the same day as the procedure.

What happens if I need more correction or I didn't achieve the results I anticipated?

As a practice based on patient satisfaction and results, OVME is happy to perform adjustments after your treatment. We are true believers that less is more, so there are many cases where we start more conservative and can add more to the treatment if necessary to give patients a more natural result. #BestOVyou
