- The injection process
A healthcare provider injects Sculptra, a gel-like substance made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), under the skin. Then the PLLA particles in Sculptra act as a scaffold to stimulate the body's natural healing process, which forms new collagen fibers. The body then breaks down the PLLA particles over time, leaving behind the new collagen fibers.
- Post-procedure care and recovery
After the injections, your provider will gently massage the treated areas to ensure even distribution of Sculptras and to promote smooth, natural-looking outcomes. You'll receive detailed aftercare instructions, which are crucial for optimizing your results and maintaining skin health following the procedure While some mild side effects such as redness, swelling, or bruising may occur at the injection site, these typically subside quickly.

What is Sculptra®?
It’s the first—and original—injectable collagen stimulator containing microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) to help restore skin structure, which may provide a long-lasting youthful appearance.
How many treatments will I need?
On average, you will have 2 to 3 treatment sessions over the course of a few months. The number of injections at each session will vary based on the treatment plan determined by you and your aesthetic professional.
When will I see results?
Most clients begin to see results as soon as 1 month, with sustained results for up to 2 years. Typical treatment is 3 sessions spaced at least 3 to 4 weeks apart.
What should I do after treatment?
Massage the treated area to evenly distribute Sculptra. A good rule of thumb is 5-5-5: Massage the injected area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days in a row.
