VI Peel

To ensure safety and optimal results, please follow these guidelines before your VI Peel appointment:
· Avoid direct or prolonged sun exposure for at least 1 week before treatment and use SPF daily.
· Do not use tanning beds for at least 2-3 weeks before treatments.
· Discontinue retinoids, retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliating products 2-3 days before treatment.
· Do not proceed with treatment if you have active cold sores, open lesions, inflamed skin, or infections in the treatment area.

Inform your provider if you:
· Are pregnant or breastfeeding
· Have used Accutane® (isotretinoin) within the past 6 months
· Have allergies to aspirin, phenol, retinoids, or hydroquinone
· Have autoimmune conditions or immune system disorders
· Recently had facial surgery or ablative procedures

Your skin will be cleansed and prepped prior to peel application.

The VI Peel solution is applied in layers and remains on the skin for several hours.

You may experience a mild tingling or warming sensation during application.

The treatment itself takes approximately 15 minutes, but allow 30 minutes for your appointment.

You will leave with the peel solution on your skin and receive a post-peel care kit with detailed instructions and an option to download the VI PEEL app to help guide you with post care instructions.

A numbing ingredient in the formula makes the treatment more comfortable than many traditional chemical peels.

Mild tingling or a warm sensation is normal and typically subsides quickly.

Important: If peeling begins, do not apply post-peel towelettes to peeling areas. Only apply to areas that have not started peeling.

Peeling varies from person to person. Your first peel may produce more visible peeling than future treatments. Visible peeling and flaking are not indicators of the effectiveness of your treatment.

For some, use of the Post-Treatment Repair Cream causes a burning sensation when applied in the first 24-48 hours. This can be normal and typically resolves within minutes. Do not discontinue use of this product entirely. Instead, you may substitute unscented, plain white petroleum jelly (e.g., Vaseline) during your next post-peel skincare application. Do not use Aquaphor or Antibiotic ointment, e.g., Neosporin.

Within the first 24 hours of the peel application, it can be normal to experience significant itching, often at night. Cool compresses and an oral antihistamine often provide comfort.

Do not pick, pull, scrub, or manually exfoliate peeling skin.

Use only the products provided in your VI Peel Post-Treatment Kit for 7 days.

Important: Do not apply post-peel towelettes to areas that have begun peeling. Only apply towelettes to areas that have not started peeling.

Avoid heat, sweating, saunas, hot yoga, and intense exercise for 72–96 hours.

Avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF daily.

Makeup may be worn after 24 hours if skin is comfortable.
