Dallas native Sydney Woy (@sydneywoy) didn’t set out to become an influencer—but with a background in PR, passion for posting and near-flawless skin (thanks to OVME—more on that later), it happened organically. Now she’s busy building brand collaborations and growing her following—and in the past fews years has taken a deep dive into skincare, trying countless products and services and making OVME Dallas her go-to for facials and laser treatments. She’s not the only one: Chasing the fountain of youth is a constant for Dallasites. “Everyone here strives for that younger feeling,” Sydney says. “Dallas is flashy; people are very conscious of their appearance and their health. They like to go out and be seen and have a good time.” With that in mind, we asked Sydney to curate a Dallas guide showcasing the top spots for spending a day in Dallas—whether you’re in from out of town or a local looking for a great time.
STAY: The Joule Dallas
Sydney’s favorite spot for a staycation, The Joule has something in common with OVME—it’s all about good vibes. Industrial decor and a curated art collection set the scene, and there’s a host of cool retail boutiques and dining destinations: Check out CBD Provisions for craft beer and the best spinach dip you’ve ever had, or subterranean speakeasy Midnight Rambler for a luxe cocktail. Plus, Sydney ranks the massages at The Spa as the best in Dallas.
INDULGE: OVME Dallas
Sydney has been an OVME insider for a little over a year now, and admits she’s the the guinea pig for new treatments among her friends. But for those who aren’t as courageous, “OVME is really great about making you feel comfortable,” she says. She loves the skin analysis service when you enter the studio—it determines your skin’s true age and pinpoints treatment areas—and she gets regular Hydrafacials to treat her dry skin.
SWEAT: PowderHeart
She gets her sweat on a few times a week at Powderheart, a cult fitness studio with a unique, altitude-inspired concept. The circuit workout focuses on low-impact interval training customized to the individual—meaning you choose the weights, reps and time best for your fitness level—and is backed by an endorphin-pumping playlist that will have you actually wanting to work out.
DINE: Bistro 31 and Lounge 31
These sister spots in Highland Park Village are a a go-to for Sydney, who loves Bistro 31 for Sunday brunch with friends, and Lounge 31 for sushi and craft cocktails. Her go-to drink? The tequila-based Ranch Water Spritz, made with guanabana nectar, muddled mint and grapefruit and topped with sparkling wine.
EXPLORE: AT&T Discovery District
This brand-new destination combines art and technology with expansive outdoor space in Downtown Dallas. A virtual media mural towers 104 feet around the corner of a building, projecting digital art in ultra high resolution, and the iconic Globe structure uses 300,000 LED lights in an interactive light and sound experience.
PARTY: Nick & Sam’s
The Uptown steakhouse is great for dinner, and then the space transforms: “It turns into a party with a club feel at night,” Syndey says. Find her sipping an espresso martini at the bar, or tucking into a A5 Waygu steak before hitting the dance floor.
