VI Peel Care Instructions

VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel designed to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity by gently removing damaged skin layers and stimulating collagen production. Each treatment is tailored to your skin’s unique concerns, for smoother, more radiant results with minimal downtime. To ensure the best results, proper care before and after your VI Peel treatment is essential. Here’s everything you need to know to maximize your experience and maintain your results. 

VI Peel not only refreshes and brightens the skin, but also effectively addresses a wide range of skin concerns, including: 

  • Fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity 

  • Uneven tone, rough texture, and hyperpigmentation 

  • Active acne and acne scarring 

  • Sun damage and age spots 

  • Dullness and congested pores 

 

How to Prepare for your VI Peel Treatment 

  1. Avoid excess sun exposure for 1 week before treatment and use SPF 30 or greater daily to ensure coverage against UVB and UBA rays. 

  1. Do not use any type of exfoliants 2 days before treatment. 

  1. Refrain from any chemical peels or lasers for at least 2 weeks prior. 

  1. Avoid waxing or laser hair removal in the area for 1 week prior to treatment. 

  1. Discontinue use of topical medications such as (Renova, Tretinoin, Retin A, Retin A Micro, Tri-Luma, Solage, etc.) at least 2-3 days before treatment. 

  1. If you have a history of regular or frequent cold sores, consider beginning prophylactic treatment with Valtrex or similar no later than the day of treatment. 

  1. Notify the studio if you have sunburned, chapped, irritated or broken skin, open wounds, active, weeping acne in the area being treated, if you develop a cold sore or experience any type of illness before your treatment. 

  1. Wait 2 weeks after Botox and filler treatments to have a VI Peel, or according to your aesthetic injector’s instructions. 

  1. Botox and filler may be done on the same day, but only after a VI Peel treatment. 

What to Expect During your VI Peel Treatment

The VI Peel treatment starts with a thorough cleansing with medical grade products. 

  1. The complete treatment is expected to take about 30 minutes and includes time to address any questions you may have, and a discussion on your post peel care. 

  1. The actual application procedure is approximately 15 minutes. Tolerance to the procedure varies from patient to patient, but a numbing agent in the VI Peel formula makes the treatment more comfortable compared to many other chemical peels. 

  1. Tingling or burning sensations are normal and expected, which usually subsides in a few minutes. 

Post Treatment Guidelines & Tips

The peeling process is different for each person. The first treatment can often cause more flaking and peeling than subsequent treatments. Do not ever pick, peel, pull, or attempt to exfoliate the skin that is shedding.  

Your VI Peel treatment includes a post treatment product kit that includes products to be used for the 7 days following treatment. Do not use any other products on the treated area.

Post VI Peel® Advanced Treatment Care

Day 1

4 HOURS POST TREATMENT 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided VI Derm Gentle Purifying Cleanser gentle purifying cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Using gentle pressure, apply the1st Post Peel Towelette to areas where peel was applied. Discard towelette and wash hands. 

  • Wait 10 minutes then apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. You may apply makeup if desired. 

1 HOUR BEFORE BEDTIME 

  • Follow the same steps as above, applying your 2nd post peel towelette.  

Day 2 

MORNING 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. Reapply as often as needed. You may apply makeup if desired. 

  • Apply VI Derm SPF 50+ Sunscreen. Reapply throughout the day. 

1 HOUR BEFORE BEDTIME 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Using gentle pressure, apply 3rd Post Peel Towelette to areas where peel was applied. Discard towelette and wash hands. 

  • Wait 10 minutes then apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. 

Day 3-7 

MORNING 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. Reapply as often as needed. You may apply makeup if desired. 

  • Apply VI Derm SPF 50+ Sunscreen. Reapply throughout the day. 

EVENING 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. 

  • After day 7, you may resume your normal skincare routine.  

Post VI Peel® Precision Plus Treatment Care 

Day 1 

4 HOURS POST TREATMENT 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Using gentle pressure, apply 1st Post Peel Towelette to areas where peel was applied. Discard towelette and wash hands.

  • Wait 30 minutes, then apply the 2nd Post Peel Towelette. Do not wash off. 

  • Wait 10 minutes, then apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. 

Day 2 

MORNING 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. Reapply as often as needed. You may apply makeup if desired. 

  • Apply VI Derm SPF 50+ Sunscreen. Reapply throughout the day.

  • Using gentle pressure, apply Precision Plus Post Peel Towelette. Do not wash off.  

  • Wait 30 minutes, then apply the Post Peel Towelette. Do not wash off. 

  • Wait 10 minutes, then apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. 

Day 3-7 

MORNING 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. Reapply as often as needed. You may apply makeup if desired. 

  • Apply VI Derm SPF 50+ Sunscreen. Reapply throughout the day. 

EVENING 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. 

  • After day 7, you may resume your normal skincare routine.  

Post VI Peel® Purify with Precision Plus Treatment Care 

Day 1

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Using gentle pressure, apply Precision Plus Post Peel Towelette. Do not wash off.  

  • Wait 30 minutes, then apply the 2nd Purify Peel Towelette. Do not wash off. 

  • Wait 10 minutes, then apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. 

Day 2

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. Reapply as often as needed. You may apply makeup if desired. 

  • Apply VI Derm SPF 50+ Sunscreen. Reapply throughout the day. 

1 HOUR BEFORE BEDTIME 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Using gentle pressure, apply the 2nd Precision Plus Post Peel Towelette. Do not wash off.  

  • Wait 30 minutes, then apply the 3rd Purify Peel Towelette. Do not wash off. 

  • Wait 10 minutes, then apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. 

Day 3-7 

MORNING (Peeling/flaking usually begins) 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. Reapply as often as needed. You may apply makeup if desired. 

  • Apply VI Derm SPF 50+ Sunscreen. Reapply throughout the day. 

EVENING 

  • Cleanse the skin using the provided Gentle Purifying Cleanser. Rise with cool water and pat dry. 

  • Apply a thin layer of Post Treatment Repair Cream. 

  • After day 7, you may resume your normal skincare routine.
